Hi! Welcome to my web page.
My name is Audrey. I am from Hewitt, Minnesota, USA, but have been living in Oslo, Norway for the past 30 + years.
I started sewing at the age of 9, using my mom's green Singer sewing machine. I learned to sew from my mother and a cousin of mine, and got involved in 4H sewing clothes which I brought to the local fair. There I got a few blue ribbons which inspired me to keep sewing some more. Dolly Parton has a song about a "Coat of many colors", and that song resonates with me, as I had lots of homemade, wonderful, made-with-love clothes.
In 2000 my mother and I took a course on how to sew a Maple Leaf Quilt, in Oppegård - an area right outside of Oslo. It was a lot of fun and I used lots of beautiful fall colors in my quilt. I got to create and sew with lots of colors and watch the pattern evolve in my hands and my sewing machine. Needless to say, I was hooked!
Since then I have created lots of quilts, with lots of different colors and patterns. I have even used some pieces from some of my old clothes in my quilts. :-)
So, WELCOME to my web page! I look forward to showing you some of my works. Enjoy!
